☘️Festive Celebrations☘️

Mia, Malwine & Paulina at St Patricks Day Parade

Last week we had the excitement of preparing for our national holiday here in Ireland, St Patrick’s day. The weeks leading up to this, we celebrate our native language through “Seachtain na Gaeilge” (shock-tin, na, gail-ga) meaning “Irish Week”, which is an international Irish language festival. It is one of the biggest celebrations of our native language and culture that takes place each year in Ireland and in many other countries. It runs from the 1st to 17th of March every year.

A lot of students would have celebrated this in school and hopefully would have learned a cúpla focail as Gaeilge (coop-la, fohck-al, aws, gail-ga) which means “a few words in Irish”. Students dressed in green and painted Irish flags on their faces, donning their shamrocks and Irish flags going into school. It was great to see everyone getting immersed in Irish culture! 💚🐍🌈💰☘️💚

This weekend will most likely be a quiet one for most, after having a weekend filled with festivities and excitement last week. We have a few going on day trips to Northern Ireland too, which we hope you enjoy. Gentle reminder, that time is quickly flying by, we would encourage you all to get out and experience as much as you possibly can with your time here. If you’re feeling tired, after a busy week in school, be sure to keep some time to rest up and relax too 💆💤

In other news, we have finally confirmed our plans for the Easter Midterm Social Programme. We will have an action-packed 2 weeks planned for those of you who aren’t travelling. We look forward to having some fun-filled adventures with you all 😁

You can find the poster for the Easter Midterm Social Programme (which includes approximate costs) alongside some great photos from our students from the last week here.

We hope you have a lovely weekend and a fantastic week ahead!

From all of us here on the High School Team,

Aimee, Bruna, Maebh & Sarah.
