Autumn in Ireland

Ice rink with friends

Autumn in Ireland runs from the 1st of September to the 30th of November. The temperature, for those of us who prefer the company of the sun, is “low”, with highs between 14º and 18º degrees.

Winter, on the other hand, begins on the 1st of December and ends on the 28th of February. At this time the temperature varies between 2°C and 8°C, although it can sometimes drop to 0°C, depending on the region. This is usually in the mountains – don’t worry too much.

The weather in Ireland tends to be cold and windy at this time of year, with January and February being the months when it’s at its coldest. In addition, it remains mostly cloudy and rainy most of the time. Spending Christmas or New Year in Ireland means you’ll need to wrap up warm if you plan to stay.

Apart from the temperatures, this is a perfect time to see a colourful scenery in the parks. As most of them will be full of leaves scattered on the ground giving a lot of colours to the landscape… if you like to take pictures, this is a fantastic time of the year. Also, if you love to drink coffee/tea/hot chocolate with marshmallows, this is a fantastic time because many coffee shops offer a warm atmosphere to people while enjoying a cosy time.

Right now also, the World Cup is already here… it will be more or less 4 weeks of many matches, who will win? My team didn’t classify but well, may the best team win. (Sorry for Messi fans but: Come on CR7!)

In addition to the autumn and the FIFA World Cup, there are students who are studying a lot for their exams while others are working hard to have an incredible work experience. We wish you all the best!

Have a great weekend and stay safe,

The high school team – Sarah, Maebh, Bruna and Emilio
