A Birthday Adventure in Dublin: How One Exchange Student Celebrated Her Special Day

Hi! I’m a 16-year-old girl and am doing an exchange year in Dublin, Ireland and welcome to my blog. Today I’d like to talk about how you could spend your birthday here in Dublin, Ireland, as some of you might be in that position.

Pottery painting

One of my exchange friends always said that she wanted to do pottery painting while we were here. Because of that we tried to look for a time and day on which it would be nice to do. My birthday wasn’t far away so we decided to do it then with some friends in the late morning. It was at a very welcoming store in the centre of Dublin. The whole store was decorated nicely and music played in the background. It was a lot of fun and we had a great time. After we were done painting and our painted pieces were left for burning, we went to go get lunch in the area.

Escape room

After eating lunch, we went to an escape room location. I had never done one before and as there are many places who offer it here, I thought it was a good opportunity to try it out. The location was also in the centre, but a little hidden. When we arrived there, we had to put our belongings in a cupboard and were then told about the game rules and objective of the escape room. It was witch themed and we had an hour to solve it. An hour might not seem as much, but it was an hour of excitement and puzzle solving. We only solved it in the last seconds. It was definitely worth doing.

Donuts

After the escape room it was around 4pm. We still had a lot of time on our hands, so we decided to instead of a birthday cake, to go get donuts. There are many donut stores in Dublin. We went to our favourite one, close to St. Stephens Green. Even after getting donuts, we still stayed in the city together, just enjoying ourselves.

I hope you liked this blog and that if you have a free weekend or it even is your birthday that it gave you ideas how to spend it.
