HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAMMES

Effective 23 September 2026. This policy applies to all ISI Dublin State Day School, Private Day School and Boarding School programmes. All cancellations and withdrawals must be notified to ISI Dublin in writing.

Cancellation before arrival

  • The €750 application fee is non-refundable.
  • If a booking is cancelled more than 30 days before arrival, ISI Dublin will refund any programme fees paid, less the €750 application fee and any non-recoverable fees already paid to a school or other third-party provider.
  • If a booking is cancelled 30 days or fewer before arrival, the full programme fee is non-refundable and any outstanding balance remains payable.
  • The full programme fee must be paid no later than four weeks before arrival.
  • Any application fees, deposits or other charges paid to a private or boarding school are subject to that school’s cancellation policy and can be refunded only if recovered by ISI Dublin.

Visa refusal

If a student’s visa application is refused, ISI Dublin will refund the programme fees paid, less:

  • The non-refundable €750 application fee;
  • Any applicable administrative or bank charges; and
  • Any fees already paid to a school or third-party provider that cannot be recovered.

A copy of the official visa refusal notification must be provided before a refund can be processed.

After the programme has commenced

Once the programme has commenced, programme fees are non-refundable. No refunds or reductions are provided for missed school days, temporary absences, late arrival, voluntary early departure, school closures or public holidays.

Exceptional early withdrawal

In serious or exceptional circumstances, ISI Dublin may approve a partial refund where a student is required to return home before completing the programme. Such circumstances may include:

  • A serious medical or mental health issue;
  • A death or serious illness in the student’s immediate family;
  • Expulsion from the school or programme; or
  • A determination that the student is unable or unsuitable to continue.

The withdrawal must be agreed by the student’s parents or guardians, ISI Dublin and the school, as well as the student’s agent where applicable. At least two weeks’ written notice must be provided.

State Day School students: ISI Dublin may refund the unused host-family accommodation fees for the period remaining after the notice period, up to a maximum of €220 per week for shared-room accommodation or €240 per week for single-room accommodation.

Private Day School and Boarding School students: ISI Dublin may refund any school fees subsequently refunded to ISI Dublin by the school and, where applicable, unused host-family accommodation fees for the period remaining after the notice period, up to a maximum of €220 per week for a shared room or €240 per week for a single room.

School fees, placement fees, application fees, administrative charges and other amounts that cannot be recovered by ISI Dublin are non-refundable.

All refunds are assessed on a case-by-case basis and will be paid to the person or organisation that originally made the payment.
