Application Process

Send us a short student profile so the High School Programme team can understand the student’s age, nationality, preferred programme period and broad school preferences. You can use our Preliminary Enquiry Form.

ISI Dublin will normally suggest one or two suitable schools, or the family may indicate preferred schools from the available profiles. Families can provide more than one preference. Preferred schools are not guaranteed until the school accepts the application.

Once the family wishes to proceed, the full application package is required. This includes:

• Completed ISI High School application form
• Two passport-size photographs
• Copy of birth certificate
• EHIC for EEA students or Private Medical Insurance for non-EEA students
• Copy of the student’s passport
• School reports covering the previous two years, including the original documents and an English translation

ISI Dublin submits the application for school placement. Preferred schools and subject combinations are not guaranteed until the school accepts the application.

For Term 1 applications received before Easter, places are normally confirmed after the Easter holidays in the year prior to entry, approximately 8-12 weeks before arrival. Term 1 applications received after Easter can take around 3-4 weeks. For Term 2 or Term 3, applications should normally be made 4-6 weeks in advance and placement is confirmed as soon as possible.

Once the place is confirmed, ISI Dublin issues the programme invoice. The €750 application fee is non-refundable. For Direct bookings, the €750 application fee is included in the published Direct programme fee and is not charged separately.

The full programme fee is due no later than four weeks before arrival. Certain private or boarding schools may have their own application fees or deposit requirements; ISI Dublin will advise applicants where applicable.

Students who require a visa may need to complete payment earlier so that the required confirmation documentation can be issued in time for the visa process.

After full payment, ISI Dublin issues final programme information, including accommodation details where applicable, transfer arrangements and the Student & Parent Guide. Host-family details are normally provided approximately 2-3 weeks before arrival once available.
